Honest Purple Carrot Reviews 2026

Best Vegan Meal Kit: My Week with Purple Carrot (2026 Review)

I’m constantly asked about how I made the shift to a plant-based diet, and I always tell people the importance of making the transition fun, enjoyable, and most importantly: convenient. So many of us have such busy lives that it can feel like a huge time suck to grocery shop, meal prep, and cook every week, which is why I always recommend outsourcing some of that labor to a food delivery service like Purple Carrot – the best vegan meal kit I’ve tried so far.

To offer a glimpse into what a realistic delivery looks like, I wanted to take readers through a realistic week of Purple Carrot meals to showcase the variety, taste, and overall experience. I think that meal kits offer the perfect sweet spot between home cooking and meal delivery; because while you’re skipping the time and effort of meal planning and shopping, you’re still able to experience the joy of making a fresh, nourishing meal for yourself and your loved ones.

I’ve had a few stellar Purple Carrot deliveries and had the opportunity to try out some of their latest 2026 recipes over the past week, which was honestly such a nice way to ease into the new year. I still got my healthy cooking and eating fix, but Purple Carrot took the legwork and guesswork out of the equation.

The affordability factor is also a huge selling point for me; particularly as the cost of food continues to rise. Purple Carrot’s meal kits offer excellent value and range from about $9-$10 per meal – all of which yield at least 2 servings – and you can receive $100 off your first 4 boxes ($25 off and free shipping on each box) with code VEGANANJ.*

Let’s Break Down The Best Vegan Meal Kit in 2026: Purple Carrot

Day 1: Chickpea Stuffed Sweet Potatoes with Green Goddess Tahini

Cook time: 30 min.

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

I have to say, Purple Carrot really excels in the sweet potato department. This was the second meal kit of theirs I’ve tried that was a 10/10, super inventive, delicious sweet potato recipe. I just roasted them for about 25 minutes on the same sheet pan as the chickpeas and shallots, made the green goddess tahini and arugula salad while they cooked, and voila – a super satisfying, filling, and comforting dinner that had a perfect balance of fiber, plant protein, and greens.

Since I live solo and only eat one of the portions (all of the meal kits yield at least two servings, sometimes three), I’ll usually have the leftovers for lunch the next day – which is exactly what I did for basically all of my meals this week.

Day 2: Spicy Korean Tofu Bowls

Cook time: 25 min.

How to go Vegan 2026

I’m a huge Asian food gal, so I really appreciate that Purple Carrot has a ton of fantastic Korean, Chinese, Thai and Japanese meal kits on rotation. This spicy Korean tofu bowl really hit the spot with garlic green beans, brown rice, and a flavorful, protein-rich, spicy tofu. I have a love/hate relationship with spice because while I love the flavor of spicy food, my sensitive stomach doesn’t quite agree; but I really appreciate that for any spicy dish, Purple Carrot keeps the spicy ingredient separate (in this case, gochujang) so you can use as much or as little as you like. So in my case, I made the sauce on the mild side, which was perfect.

Day 3: Smoky Lentil Stew

Cook time: 55 min.

It’s been pretty chilly in LA (I know, nothing compared to the frigid temperatures in other parts of the country) so I’ve been craving warming foods and this smoky lentil stew really hit the spot. It was so comforting, satiating, and had amazing depth of flavor. With both green and black lentils, potatoes, root veggies, crispy lentil/garlic topper and a hearty, smoky flavor, this meal ended up being one of my favorites. I also added a dollop of plant-based yogurt in place of sour cream, and this gave it a nice added tang. This stew ended up making FOUR servings (three for me, one for a friend)!

Day 4: Pesto & White Bean Salad

Cook time: 20 min.

Best Spring Recipes

I love a good pesto, and I love white beans, so I knew I was going to devour this dish. It was an inventive combination of mashed cannellini beans and a celery, green olive and walnut salad topped with pesto, and made for a fabulous, light, but nourishing meal. Big fan!

Day 5: Dan Dan Noodles

Cook time: 30 min.

Best Vegan Plant-Based Meal Delivery 2026

The flavor in this dish was off-the-charts thanks to an Asian vinaigrette made of Szechuan chile crisp, rice vinegar, tamari, and olive oil. I’m telling you, I could drink this stuff. But I really enjoyed the sweet potato glass noodles (very low on the glycemic index), and the delicious stir-fried mushrooms and gai lan (an Asian vegetable similar to broccoli), plus the crunch of the toasted peanuts that made it all come together.

Treats & Drinks

My box came with two cold-pressed juices: one with beet, carrot, apple, and lemon, and another with pineapple, orange, and ginger. I added the former to a couple days’ worth of smoothies for an extra nutrition and flavor boost, and the second one was perfect for a day I was feeling a tad under the weather and could really use the immune-boosting ingredients.

And these peanut butter chocolate balls…wow. These were a delightful sweet treat and I had never heard of this company, Bocce Ball, before (another unexpected perk of Purple Carrot – they’ve put a handful of great plant-based food brands on my radar that I wasn’t familiar with prior).

Have I convinced you that Purple Carrot is the best vegan meal kit?
